What is Profhilo?
A mixture of long and short-chain hyaluronic acid, similar to dermal filler but used in a unique way.

This acts to improve skin quality by increasing collagen production and also to improve volume throughout the face or neck. As such it doesn't focus on one area but can be cconsidered a whole face treatment.
Who is suitable for treatment?
Essentially, anyone who wants to improve their skin quality and volume.

Some patients who have undergone weight loss find this treatment to be beneficial.
How is it done?
Injections are given to five specific points on either side of the face or neck (10 injections total). Small lumps will be left which resolve over 6-12 hours.

When first having treatment, it is recommended to have two rounds of injections a month apart to get the best effects. You can then move to 4-6 monthly maintenance treatments.
Are there any risks?
All medical injection-based procedures carry risks.

Most of these are simple and self-resolving such as bleeding, bruising, swelling.
​
There is a risk of infection but we reduce this by cleansing the skin pre-procedure.
​
In very rare certain cases if the product is injected too deep there is a risk of vascular occlusion, which is serious but treatable.
